Boston Has The Red-Sox, The Muskegon River Has Steelhead!

It was my absolute pleasure to guide a two day trip (provided by the Gray Drake Lodge) this past weekend with some newly acquired friends from Boston who honestly made it more fun for me just to watch them in action catching steelhead one after the other here on the Muskegon river.  Please meet Gene, Mary, and Casey.  The first photo below was Casey’s first ever steelhead, a 14lb, 34″ double stripe beast that broke my customer off last week.  Not so with Casey…..she landed it!

Mary's scrappy buck

Not to be out-done, here’s Mary’s (pictured on right) first ever steelie, a scrappy buck.

Early Morning Steel & Smiles!

Early morning steel smiles!  Who ever said the early morning bite is no good?

We even got Casey’s buck to smile in this grip & grin shot!

This scrappy buck fought four times harder than his size.

Hole with a tree, Gene's Hole

Last cast of the day……caught in “Gene’s Hole”.  It’s the hole with a tree.  Gene can tell you all about it!
