Chrome Steelhead, Fat Rainbow Trout, 20″ Browns, It’s All Good On The MO!

Over the past 17+ years exclusively fishing the Muskegon river, one thing keeps me coming back and that’s the wide diversity of fish the river system has to offer.  Here’s Jeff with some of those great fish.  Nice chrome steelhead, fat Muskegon river rainbow trout (not pictured) and an awesome 20″ Muskegon river brown trout.  From what I’ve seen with the size, quantity, and quality of trout my clients caught this winter, trout fishing on the Muskegon will be excellent late spring into early summer!  Five weight rods & dry flies are ready for anyone who’d like to book a morning or evening trout trip with us.  If you’ve never experienced stalking large size trout rising for the hatch, casting, and watching the water explode when they slam your dry fly top surface on very light fly rods you’ve got to give us a try!  It’s a very exciting experience.

Water levels on the Muskegon are still low at 2,000 cfs.  Look for the warmer weather next week to give us that surge of water needed to push more fish up the river system.  Regardless, from what we’re seeing now we’re poised for a very good spring steelhead run on the Muskegon!!  Just a little more water mixed with warmer nights will pull the trigger on the bite!  We still have really good dates available in May!  Don’t wait though; these spots are booking up quickly!
