Hats off to John and his son Jack for sticking it out through some extreme weather conditions today to say the least.   All in pursuit of one common addiction….steelhead!  Relentless persistence and a positive attitude paid off big time through some very adverse fishing conditions.

Water levels started out at 4800 cfs and continue climbing to 7500 cfs.  Water temps are perfect at 43 degrees and rising.

For those of you in the immediate future with fishing trips please understand….this surge of water is exactly what we want.  High water = more steelhead.  We want flood stages just before the peak of the run.  The steelhead are here and higher water brings much more steelhead up river.

Water temps at 43 degrees for the next four to five days will just aid in bringing more fresh chrome up river.  Regardless of the cold front coming the next few days the water temps will not fluctuate enough to change the massive amount of steelhead that will migrate up river due to the flow.
