Had an outstanding day of dry fly fishing yesterday, all rainbows (except the one that got away) all in excess of 15 inches plus and fat as footballs.
The gray drake hatch has been exceptional the past few days. I’m extremely happy to report the surface activity of feeding trout has also been exceptional. You never realize just how many large size trout are in a section of the Muskegon river at a given time until you witness the gray drake hatch in full swing with trout actively feeding. It is absolutely amazing! This is by far the best dry fly trout fishing of the year on the Muskegon.
Sulphurs, caddis, BWO’s and the epic drakes are the name of the game right now.
Come get some!!
