Once Bit, Twice Shy!

Doug with an awesome fall Muskegon river steelhead

Doug holding an awesome Muskegon river fall steelhead.

Once bit twice shy.  This chromer struck 5 feet behind the boat catching Doug off guard.  Never underestimate the aggressive nature of these fall steelhead.  More times then not; if you miss the first strike, work the same area on your second cast.  Fall steelhead are known to “nip at it” before they deliver their final strike!  Ask Doug.

Water levels are on the rise with the recent rains and so is the optimistic outlook for an excellent fall steelhead run on the Muskegon this year.

If you’ve never experienced fall steelhead fishing on the Muskegon river you owe it to yourself.  Fall steelhead fight harder than any other fresh water big game fish.  Pure power!!

Prime November steelhead dates open: 7,9,13,14,15,16,20,21,22,23,27,28,29,30.
