First Muskegon River Steelhead 10/13/13

Few things as a fishing guide feel better than getting a person who has never fly fished before into their first fall steelhead on the Muskegon river in Michigan.  Only thing that could make it better is having them do it on their first cast of the day.  Here’s Josh with his first, this 11lb chrome hen hit on his first cast of the day.  Awesome job Josh!

I’ve said it before….nothings better than sharing great fishing stories among friends.  Here’s Jeff, Josh, and Dave with the “beast of the day,” a 23lb male King.  These guys were into fish all day long.  Great job today guys!

Water levels on the Muskegon are are holding but still remain a little low.  Several fresh salmon remain staged in deep pools.  Fresh rain is needed to push the next batch of salmon up.  Steelhead numbers are getting better daily.  Look for the best action behind spawning salmon.
