Muskegon River Trout Fishing

Before the salmon run on the Muskegon river takes center stage in October the fly fishing for trout right now is hot!  Water temps are starting the downward trend below 70 degrees.  The hatches the past few days on the Muskegon have been strong.  BWO’s & cahill’s on the lower stretch and caddis hatches on the upper.  Bert from Rodney Michigan joined me today for “the Peak Evening Special.”  Bert landed several nice size trout, including a very nice 20″ brown that grew camera shy before the net.  All in all great night for dry fly fishing on the Muskegon river in Michigan!
