Sometimes, The Work That Goes Into It Produces The Sweetest Rewards!

I give Brian all the credit in the world for sticking it out today and fishing hard despite the boat pressure a 44 degree winter day on the Muskegon river can create.  One of those days you just wait your turn for the hole to open up and pray to God the steelhead take your fly over the 15 boats before you.  Congrats to Brian though for getting the job done on a most challenging but rewarding day!

High 3700 cfs water levels in the morning made slow presentations difficult.   3100 cfs in the afternoon triggered a bite.  This push of water should shuffle the deck of steelhead in the river system now and bring more up the river system in the days to come. Cold weather in the forecast will be a good thing to reduce fishing pressure and turn the bite back on.
