The Calm Before the Storm! (3/16/13)

The stage is being set for a awesome spring steelhead run on the Muskegon river in April!  We still have April 8th, 9th, & 11th open during the week if your interested in some excellent steelhead fishing, give us a call now, these few spots left are going quickly!

As weather conditions continue to change so does the water conditions.  The Muskegon continues to run high at 4000 cfs with a good stain.  The problem is the water temps dropping back to the low 30’s.  This recent drop to the water temps has made the bite  difficult the past few days.

Look for the fishing to significantly improve as the water temps climb when we move into warmer weather by next week’s end.

More good news……the stone flies are growing in numbers across the banks of the Muskegon.  I witnessed the first trout of the year slam a Stone fly top water a few days back.  Won’t be long until steelhead & trout fishing explodes in April!
