Trout Fishing On The Muskegon River

Trout Fishing On The Muskegon River

Jeff from Illinois with a really nice rainbow trout

Here’s Jeff from Illinois with a football size rainbow trout that smashed a wet fly on the tail end of the swing.

Caddis, sulphurs, and BWO’s are emerging into the evening.  The grey drake hatch has also been very strong in select areas.

As the water temps warm up from the air temps in the next few days, so will the trout fishing.

Red tail suckers are in full spawn mode.  Trout are actively feeding subsurface and top water around these sucker spawning areas.

Several dry fly fishing dates are available right now but don’t wait; the best dry fly fishing of the year is starting now and will only last through June. The best time to book is within the first two weeks of the start of the grey drake hatch, so now is the time!

May dates available: 26, 27, 29, 30.

June dates available: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20
