May Offers Up Crystal Chrome Steelhead & 20″ Rainbows!!

Here’s Todd from Indiana with an absolute brute chrome steelhead from the Muskegon River.  The recent high waters have brought up a fresh push of steelhead found in select pockets of the river.

Here’s Todd with a custom jaw structured steelhead unique to the Muskegon River.

Here’s Todd with another “crystal chrome” steelhead.

Todd posing with one of two 20-inch Muskegon River rainbow trout landed today.

Only fitting to end the day with another crystal chrome steelhead from the Muskegon.  With more rain in the forecast, look for the steelhead run to continue with new steelhead migrating up the river system.

Important to note; the Muskegon River is one of the last river systems in Michigan to start migratory big game salmon and steelhead runs and even more important to understand the Muskegon is one of the last rivers in Michigan where the big game fish runs end.  In recent years past, the steelhead run has lasted well up to the first weeks of June.  This steelhead season looks to be no different.
