What makes me feel better about breaking the drag on my 5wt fly reel?  Doing it while fighting a 9 lb. Steelhead trout fishing last night on the Muskegon!  I’d never believed it myself if it didn’t happen.  While dead drifting green caddis for trout last night I hooked into a gorgeous 9lb female chrome bullet.  The 70+ degree water temps slowed this fish down considerably enabling me to bring it to my trout net.

I’d never guessed Steelhead have entered the Muskegon already, but guess what, they’re here!
It just goes to show, you never know what you’ll experience fishing the Muskegon, but rest a assured, your in for a good time!  Regardless of the low clear water, the trout fishing is getting better!  Incoming cooler days and long colder nights the next few days will really turn things on quickly.  Give us a call if you’d like to experience some excellent fall trout fishing on the MO!  You never know what you may catch.
