Muskegon River Trout & Steelhead Fishing (5/5/13)

Mark & his son Allen from Illinois joined me this past Sunday for a half day evening trip.  Both are relatively new to steelhead fishing and found out first hand why steelhead are the hardest fighting fresh water game fish in North America.  Both Mark and Allen hooked their fair share of steelhead, but just couldn’t get them to the boat for a photo opp.  Allen however landed this beautiful 21″ 3lb Eagle Strain Rainbow Trout.

The trout fishing on the Muskegon river is starting to pick up.  I witnessed several rises later in the evening.  Won’t be long until we make the transition from steelhead to trout fishing.  If you like trout fishing or ever wanted to learn to trout fish with dry flies give us a call.  Our guides specialize in stalking rising trout and get you in position for the cast.  We’re offering evening trips for $200,  5pm until dark.  This will be your best opportunity for some great dry fly trout fishing in May!
