Here’s my great friend Nick from Chicago with a picture perfect crystal chrome fall steelhead from the Muskegon River. Congrats Nick!
When this steelhead struck Nick’s fly it was like a lightning strike through the fly rod. The steelhead immediately broke down stream 100 feet in seconds. Drag streaming runs with an aerial attack Nick brought this silver bullet to the net! Amazing fight only fall steelhead on the Muskegon River can provide!
Despite the low clear water steelhead continue to enter the upper reaches of the Muskegon. Rain and colder weather in the forecast will only make the steelhead fishing better in the weeks to come!
