Every once in a while the Mighty MO (Muskegon River) flexes its muscle and proves what a World-Class fishery it really is and Ed’s beautiful brown trout is the ultimate example of just how amazing of a trout stream the Muskegon River really is!

Please meet my great friend Ed from Hillsdale, MI with what can only be described as an awesome naturally reproduced Muskegon River brown trout!

Measuring in at 27-inches this incredible Muskegon river brown trout was brought to the net on the second cast of the morning. Congrats on one of many incredible fresh water big game fish you’ve landed on the Muskegon River over the years Ed!

The steelhead run is starting to slow down as water levels have dropped and the majority of steelhead have made their way back to Lake Michigan. However, late run steelhead seem to keep trickling in found in pockets throughout the river system.
But, as one door closes the other opens as we start to put down the steelhead rods down and pick up the dry fly and streamer trout rods as our main focus will be trout in the weeks to come in anticipation of the beloved Gray Drake Hatch just weeks away!
