Here’s Calvin from Madison, WI with an absolute brute of a Muskegon River king salmon!

Fresh king salmon continue to enter the river system despite the late start due to low water and excessive heat. So good to report I haven’t seen numbers of salmon like this in a very long time on the Muskegon.
Reminds me of the “old days” with literally hundreds of salmon on the move up river occupying gavel areas of 20 to 30 fish deep on beds throughout the river system. Best part about it is the more salmon that enter the river system the more steelhead and large trout follow!
