Yeah, this ain’t no mis-print! Here’s my great friend Bob from Madison, WI with a 38-inch Muskegon river steelhead!

Well over 3-feet long and 18-pounds, Bob’s 38-Inch steelhead is officially the longest steelhead I have ever seen in over 27 years guiding on the Muskegon River. Congrats Bob on such a massive steelhead my friend!

Here’s Bob with a winter hold-over steelhead that has been in the river system since last fall.

Here’s Bob with a chromed out hen that ripped Bob into his backing on his fly reel within seconds!

Here’s Bob with an official “Muskegon River Silver Bullet!”

Despite the jaw abnormality this spring steelhead smashed Bob’s fly with a vengeance!

Here’s Bob with an absolute gorgeous Muskegon River spring steelhead. It’s amazing how many fresh bright chrome steelhead are holding in staging areas throughout the river system!
Up and down …. up and down are the weather patterns we’ve been experiencing on the Muskegon River the past couple weeks. 70’s and sun one day to 23 degrees and ice the next. These up and down weather patterns have been keeping the water temps cold for this time of the year hovering around the 40-degree mark.
The flows are also low for this time of year. All that’s needed is a strong push of rain and some warmer weather to really kick-start the spring steelhead run on the Muskegon.
Strong numbers of very fresh steelhead are positioned in deep pools and medium fast water throughout the river system. The stage is being set for another incredible spring steelhead run on the Muskegon River!
