Here’s Bert from Rodney, MI holding what can only be described as a very big Muskegon River steelhead! Fall steelhead fight incredibly hard, don’t get me wrong, but the sheer power Bert’s steelhead had from the very first take to net was absolutely insane!
Bert’s steelhead hit with absolute vengeance, pure “seek and destroy” smashing the fly shortly into his swing. With multiple aerial assaults, and drag screaming runs, Bert brought this monster Muskegon River steelhead to the net!
In the past 30 years fishing the Muskegon River exclusively all year long, I’ve come to know and wittness so many incredible fall steelhead battles. But this one will surely go down as one of the best! Thank you Dad! Congratulations on such an incredible Muskegon River fall steelhead!
Despite the low clear water steelhead continue to enter the upper reaches of the Muskegon. Rain and colder weather in the forecast will only make the steelhead fishing better in the weeks to come!
