Cold Hard Muskegon River Steel!

As March grows near, I wanted to remind you the biggest steelhead of the year are taken late February & March on the Muskegon.  The fish below seem to be a pre-curser of what’s to come.  Although they’re not quite wall hangers yet, if they make it a couple more years these double stripe bucks and 30″ female below are well on their way!

This 30″ female was dropping eggs during her photo shoot.  Spring run coming early?  Winter Steelhead fishing remains strong.  What really surprises me though is the quantity of very large size trout.  We got into one hole today where we landed six 15″ plus size trout within a few minutes.  Hang on for trout fishing with dry flies this spring my friends!
