What originated as a trout trip quickly became a steelhead dream as the recent rains yet again pushed up another run of fresh steelhead.

Haven’t seen incredible flows like this on the Muskegon for almost two years. Excellent flows mixed with cool water temps from this spring has resulted in a prolonged steelhead run. New steelhead seem to arrive daily in different sections of the river.
An added benefit of these perfect flows have also set the stage for an incredible gray drake hatch. We already had an excellent stone fly hatch throughout April and very large size caddis flies taking center stage now with top water strikes on dry flies about to pop!
