Here’s my great friend from Madison, WI. Bob with an absolute brute of a steelhead measuring in at a solid 36-inches and bottoming out my boga grips well over 20 pounds. Great job Bob! Incredible steelhead!
The numbers of steelhead compared to other years might not be the best but the size of the steelhead here are BIG! As evident as seen with Bob’s massive 36″ Muskegon river steelhead.
Water levels remain perfect with flows maintaining excellent levels holding around 3500cfs. New pushes of water almost every other day continue to push new fish up river as the spawned out female steelhead begin to drop back and water temps continue to warm.
With these continued pushes of water and such a cold start to the spring steelhead run will pro-long the spring run well into May making May a great time to fly fish the Muskegon river.
