Twisted Crimson Red Steel!

Twisted Crimson Red Steel!
(Sven with his first ever Muskegon river steelhead)

Here’s Sven from Colorado celebrating his birthday in style with his first ever Muskegon river steelhead.  A beautifully colored crimson red double strip buck tipping the bogas at 16 pounds and just shy of 30-inches.  This nice buck is sporting a beautiful crimson red winter hold-over coat.  Outstanding steelhead Sven!  Happy birthday my friend!

(Tale of the Tape)

Thick shoulders and a beautiful winter red double stripe coat; Sven’s steelhead is another prime example of the extraordinary steelhead the mighty Muskegon river produces year after year.  If this guy makes it another couple years he’s gonna be a wall-hanger!

Fishing conditions are in a transition right now as warm-ups followed by cold fronts are making way to the transition from winter steelheading to spring.  The warm up next week will continue to raise water levels and temps triggering new steelhead to make their way up the river system.  Steelhead in all phases, from crimson red winter coats to bright chrome steel are present throughout the river system.
