Best Buds!
(Dave’s massive Muskegon river steelhead)

Here’s Dave from Chicago with a beautiful double stripe Muskegon River steelhead tipping the scale at 17lbs.  Dave’s magnificent steelhead was so big he needed two buddies to help hold it for the photo.  Nice steelhead Dave!  Congrats!

(Tale of the Tape)

Dave’s beautiful translucent red double stripe buck.

(Bill with a chrome hen)

Not to be outdone, here’s Bill from Washington with a chromed out hen.

(Mike with his first ever steelhead)

Mike from California with another beautiful chromed out hen.  Mike’s first ever steelhead.  Welcome to the club Mike and thanks so much for making the long journey, all the way from beautiful southern California to the Muskegon river here in Michigan for the quest of chrome!

(Muskegon River Black Stone Fly)

Ran into a black stone fly afternoon hatch that brought some large size trout to the surface in a feeding frenzy!  Need to pack the 5 weight dry fly rod for tomorrows trip!

Fishing conditions are in a transition right now as warm-ups followed by cold fronts are making way to the transition from winter steelheading to spring.  The warm up next week will continue to raise water levels and temps triggering new steelhead to make their way up the river system.  Steelhead in all phases, from crimson red winter coats to bright chrome steel are present throughout the river system.
