Had an absolute blast doing a few hours of scouting for some upcoming trips and was blessed with this monster 19 pound, 33-Inch beast of a Muskegon river steelhead pictured top and bottom. Forgot how fun these steelhead are to fight and try to land with light fly gear. Incredible fights! They just don’t give up, ever!
Good numbers of steelhead are on the move as the water starts to rise and the temps start to warm. Look for the the water temps to warm quickly as we finally start to break this bitter winter cold and start the early spring steelhead run weather.
