Winter Steelhead

Winter Steelhead
(John with a winter steelhead)

Here’s John from Indiana with his very first Muskegon river steelhead.  Winter steelhead fishing on the Muskegon can be exciting as John found out how powerful these winter steelhead really are.

(John with a beautiful female steelhead)

Here’s John again with a beautiful, extremely hard fighting female steelhead from the Muskegon river.

(Tale of the Tape!)

Tale of the tape from John’s 17lb, 32″ big buck pictured above.

Water conditions are perfect for winter steelhead fishing as flows remain constant holding around 1200cfs with crystal clear clarity.  Ideal conditions for winter steelhead fishing on the Muskegon river.  Every slight warm up we get during the winter months causes run-off and triggers new steelhead to migrate up river and shuffle the deck into their particular winter lies.

We are hooking steelhead throughout the river system with some locations producing very good numbers of active takers!
